Good Threads was founded to employ the parents of the children at the Joan Rose Foundation. The founder, David Palmer, started a non profit to help impoverished children in the Dominican Republic in 2010.

Good Threads was founded to employ, parents, mostly single mothers. The stitchers are trained and given materials so that they can work from home while they take care of their children and manage their household.

Now based in Jacmel, Haiti, Good Treads give 3% of their revenue to the Joan Rose Foundation as a donation. They are also a Benefit Corporation.
